Third ODI: New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 43 runs.

Chasing a target of 265 runs set by New Zealand, Pakistan were bowled out for 221 in the third and final ODI at Mount Maunganui.

Batting first in a match affected by a wet outfield due to rain, New Zealand scored 264 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 42 overs. Kiwi captain Michael Bracewell stood out with 59 runs, while for Pakistan, Akif Javed got 4 wickets and Naseem Shah got two wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Sufyan Muqeem got one wicket each.

Abdullah Shafiq and Imam-ul-Haq opened the innings for Pakistan, but Imam-ul-Haq was hit in the face by a fielder’s thrown ball while batting at the beginning of the innings and had to retire hurt and leave the ground.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam scored 50, Mohammad Rizwan 37, Abdullah Shafiq 33, Tayyab Tahir 33, Naseem Shah 17, Usman Khan 12, Salman Ali Agha 11, Faheem Ashraf 3, Sufyan Muqeem 2, Akif Javed and Imam-ul-Haq scored one run each. Ben Sires got five wickets for New Zealand.
