Australia’s T20 league Big Bash team Sydney Sixers have introduced a unique jersey number for Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam. The BBL will start from December 14, in which Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam will represent Sydney Sixers. Sydney Sixers have introduced a unique jersey number for their star overseas batsman Babar Azam before the start of Big Bash League Season 15. Babar Azam, whose national jersey number is 56, has been given a special 3-digit ‘056’ jersey number by Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League, breaking with tradition.
The franchise shared pictures of Babar Azam’s new jersey on social media, in which he was seen wearing the jersey with the new number at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Babar was given a unique number because fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who is part of the Sydney Sixers team, is already using jersey number 56. Introducing the jersey numbers of both players, Sydney Sixers wrote that in season 15, Babar Azam will wear jersey number 056 and Starc will wear jersey number 56.
