Issue of Not Traveling to India: Deadlock Persists Over Bangladesh’s Participation in the T20 World Cup.

The deadlock over Bangladesh’s participation in the T20 World Cup continues due to the issue of the team not traveling to India. A video conference between the ICC and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) regarding venues proved inconclusive, with Bangladesh once again standing firm on its stance to have its matches moved out of India. The ICC stated that the tournament schedule has already been finalized, to which the BCB responded that both parties have agreed to continue discussions in search of a possible solution.

According to the BCB, there has been no change in the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s position or decision. The ICC has requested the BCB to reconsider its stance. The BCB reiterated its commitment to maintaining constructive engagement with the ICC to ensure the safety of players, officials, and staff. It is worth noting that following pressure from Hindu extremist groups, the Indian cricket board instructed the release of Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL. In this context, after receiving threats, the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced its decision not to send the team to India. The BCB is still awaiting a response from the ICC.
