The first group of players from the South African Test cricket team has arrived in Lahore. Upon arrival at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, the squad was taken to the hotel under tight security. Two Test matches will be played between Pakistan and South Africa. The first Test will be played from October 12 to 16 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, while the second Test is scheduled from October 20 to 24 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
According to sources, 2 to 3 changes are expected in the team for the T20 and ODI series against South Africa, with the return of senior players and the inclusion of new players also possible. It should be noted that a series of 3 T20 and 3 ODI matches is scheduled against South Africa.
The first match of the 3-match T20 series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played in Rawalpindi on October 28. Before that, there will be 2 Test matches between the two teams.
South Africa are the winners of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25. According to sources, fast bowler Amir Jamal and spinner Faisal Akram have been released from the squad. Sources say that the number of players in the national team squad has been reduced from 18 to 16.
