The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the Men’s Domestic Cricket Calendar for the 2026-27 season, running from 11 August 2026 to 15 June 2027. The calendar is built around World Cup 2027 preparations and expanding player development across Pakistan. Key tournaments and structure.
The season includes 2 List-A tournaments, 3 first-class tournaments, 2 non-first-class three-day events, 2 T20 tournaments, plus U19 50-over, U19 three-day, U15 50-over, and U17 two-day competitions. The PCB will also run District Challenge Leagues, Inter-District U19, Inter-District Senior three-day, and School Cricket across 100 districts.
The season will open with two List-A tournaments as focus shifts toward the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 in South Africa from 4 October to 21 November 2027. Major changes: Expansion and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy revamp*
In a major step to strengthen regional cricket, Sialkot and Peshawar will each get an extra team, With Lahore and Karachi, these become the only four of 16 regions to have two teams.
The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy will now have two divisions:
QeA Trophy GoldTop: 8 teams from last season. Runs 1 Nov to 17 Dec in Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Rawalpindi. Each team plays 7 matches, with the top 2 playing the final.
QeA Trophy Silver: 12 teams including new sides from Peshawar and Sialkot, relegated teams Abbottabad and Bahawalpur, and 8 teams from last year’s Hanif Mohammad Trophy. The 12 teams are split into two groups of 6, playing a single round-robin from 1 Nov to 5 Dec. Group toppers meet in the final. The Silver winner earns promotion to Gold for 2027-28. The Hanif Mohammad Trophy has been upgraded to first-class status and rebranded as QeA Trophy Silver.
T20 and Departmental Cricket:
National T20 Cup Silver: 12 teams, 5 to 19 Feb in Lahore. Top 2 qualify for Gold.
National T20 Cup Gold: 10 teams, 23 Feb to 6 March in Lahore.
President’s Cup Grade-I:8 teams in Karachi from 21 Aug to 8 Sep, Top 4 go to semi-finals.
President’s Trophy Grade-I, Grade-II Gold and Silver: All start 12 Sep across 8 cities. Around 34 departmental teams will feature in 4-day first-class and 3-day non-first-class events.
Age-group and Grassroots
U19: 20 regional teams will play a 50-over Cup and a 3-day Championship with 47 three-day matches from 15 Sep to 6 Nov in Faisalabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Multan.
U15: 20 teams in a One-Day tournament from *22 Oct to 6 Nov.
U17: Two-day National Cup from *10 Nov to 5 Dec.
– Trials for U15, U17 and U19 district teams will be held in September.
PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools expanded from 450 to 1200 schools and from 39 to 100 districts.
The PCB said the calendar has been designed to meet the development and preparatory needs of national, domestic, emerging, age-group and aspiring cricketers across the country.
